Access & Special Needs

An ATM is located near the entrance to the Museum Shop on Level 1.



Elevators are located in the north and south atria. Additional elevators are located in the Leprino Family Atrium.


First Aid

First aid is located at the Security Desk on Level 1 near the main exit.


Information Desk

The Information Desk is located in the central corridor on Level 1 across from the Museum Shop.

  • Get general Museum information including theater schedules, programs and exhibits tips, and scavenger hunts. 
  • Pick up a Museum map – which you can also access electronically by clicking floor maps
  • Check out strollers, wheelchairs, canes, Braille maps, and resources for guests with sensory needs
  • Find Regional Transportation District (RTD) maps
  • Get directions and area tourist information
  • Complete a Guest Comment Form



Lockers are available for 50 cents under the “up” escalator on Level 1.


Lost and Found

Lost and found is located at the Security Desk on Level 1 near the main exit.



A mailbox is located outside near the flagpole on the north side of the Museum.



Photography, video or any other reproduction of images for personal use is permitted in the Museum’s permanent collections galleries, but is not permitted in temporary exhibition galleries unless otherwise marked. With the exception of reporters on assignment escorted by staff, cameras must be handheld and no flash photography or tripods are allowed. Rest Rooms

Restrooms are located throughout the Museum and are wheelchair accessible. Family Restrooms are located inside the entrance to Gems and Minerals on Level 1; in the far corner of Discovery Zone on Level 2; and outside of Anschutz Gallery (Temporary Exhibits) on Level 3. Changing tables can be found in most rest rooms on all three levels. An adult-sized changing table is available; please inquire at the main Ticketing Desk.
